A Little About Us
At Attitude Brittanys, we have taken something which started as a family hunting dog and developed a strong hobby and great friendships. We breed our puppies to have friendly dispositions and fit in seamlessly as hunting dogs and incredible family pets.
John (Jay) and Marie Walsh have had Brittanys since 1977 and hunted over them ever since. With the short range fun dog, they fit perfect in his hobby with friends, Jim O'Connor, Bob and Mary O'Connor and countless others through the years. Jay was recognized in 2008 with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the LaSalle Brittany Club. Jay and Marie encouraged and supported their daughters, Erin and Colleen, to get involved in AKC sports from conformation to field trials and hunt tests with the help of mentor Teresa Richmond, Starlight Brittanys, and other club members. Both girls were active in Junior Showmanship with young dogs and dogs so graciously co-owned with numerous members of the LaSalle Brittany Club. Jay is excited that his grandson, Kalel Dahan, also likes the sport of dogs, but more so the field portion.
Colleen Walsh started in the sport of purebred dogs because her sister, Erin Dahan, got a dog and she had to tag along. She jumped into the sport and took a liking to showing. It has taken her to countless states and connected her to some of her best friends. She is a member of LaSalle Brittany Club where she has held numerous roles in the club from 2nd Vice President, Hunt Test Secretary to the current role of Secretary. She was bestowed Lifetime Achievement Award for her time and dedication to the LaSalle Brittany Club in 2018. Colleen has also served on the American Brittany Club National Show Committee for 4 years. She enjoys showing so much that she started showing Brittanys for others and is proud of all of their accomplishments.
This is a family hobby for the Walshes and they all play a different, yet important role in their dogs' successes.
